§ 5.861. Purpose.

This district is intended to accommodate intense industries involving manufacturing, warehousing, assembly, and storage. The uses include the production, assembly, and processing of large products as well as those which may generate special impacts on surrounding properties. The district is characterized by open uses and/or storage, industrial processes which involve significant amounts of heat, mechanical and chemical processing, large amounts of materials transfer, and large scale machinery and structures.
