§ 1-2. Certain ordinances not affected by Code.

  • (a)

    The adoption of this Code shall not be construed to repeal or in any way to affect or modify:

    (1)

    Any special ordinance or ordinances regarding franchises, annexations, dedications, or zoning.

    (2)

    Any ordinance making an appropriation.

    (3)

    Any ordinance affecting any bond issue or by which any bond issue may have been authorized.

    (4)

    The running of the statutes of limitations in force at the time this Code becomes effective.

    (5)

    The continued existence and operation of any department, agency, commission or officer heretofore legally established or held.

    (6)

    Any bond of any public officer.

    (7)

    Any taxes, fees, assessments or other charges incurred or imposed.

    (8)

    Any ordinances authorizing, ratifying, confirming, approving or accepting any compart or contract with any other municipality, the state or any county or subdivision thereof, or with the United States or any agency or instrumentality thereof.

    (9)

    Any ordinance dedicating, naming, establishing, locating, relocating, opening, paving, widening, vacating, etc., any street or public way in the city.

    (10)

    Any ordinance providing for local improvements and assessing taxes thereof.

    (11)

    Any ordinance dedicating or accepting any plat or subdivision in the city.

    (12)

    Prescribing the number, classification, duties, benefits or compensation of any city officers or employees, not inconsistent herewith.

    (13)

    Any ordinance relating to zoning.

    (14)

    Any ordinance which is temporary although general in effect.

    (15)

    Any ordinance which is special although permanent in effect.

    (16)

    Any ordinance the purpose of which has been accomplished.

    (b)

    All ordinances referred to in subsection (a) hereby recognized as continuing in full force and effect to the same extent as if set out at length in this Code. Such ordinances are on file in the city clerk's office.
