§ 20-17. Members.

  • (a)

    The library advisory board shall have nine (9) members, who shall reside within the corporate limits of the city. Such members shall be appointed by the city council. Two (2) of the nine (9) members of the library advisory board shall be students attending high school at the time of their appointment by the city council. The student members of the board shall be full voting members of the board.

    (b)

    The mayor, city manager and library director shall be ex-officio members of the library advisory board, and shall have no vote in the matters to come before the board.

    (c)

    The student members of the board shall be appointed for one-year terms and may be re-appointed for a second one-year term. The non-student members of the board shall be appointed for a two-year term. All members shall serve without compensation.
