§ 27-17. Members.

(a)

The commission shall have nine (9) members, who shall be residents of the city and who shall be appointed by the city council. The chairperson of the commission shall be appointed by the city council. Two (2) of the nine (9) members of the commission shall be students attending high school at the time of their appointment by the city council. The student members of the commission shall be full voting members of the board.

(b)

The mayor, city manager and parks and recreation director shall be ex officio members, without voting privileges, of the commission.

(c)

The student members of the board shall be appointed for one-year terms and may be re-appointed for a second one-year term. The non-student members of the board shall be appointed for a two-year term. All members shall serve without compensation.
