§ 2-228. Glendale Arts Commission.

(a)

To carry out the responsibilities set forth herein, there is hereby created a Glendale Arts Commission to consist of seven (7) members who shall be selected and appointed by the city council. The chairperson and vice chairperson of the commission shall be appointed by the city council.

(b)

Members may serve a maximum of two (2) consecutive terms of two (2) years.

(c)

The commission shall:

Develop an annual art projects plan with the appropriate city staff for the purpose of making recommendations to the city council;

Assist with the selection and commissioning of artists with respect to the design, execution and placement of works of art for which appropriation have been made;

Review grant applications and recommend funding for grants awarded to non-profit organizations and/or government agencies for supporting performing arts projects and programs held within the Glendale City limits.
