§ 9-2. Freeway sound mitigation.

  • All newly constructed residential dwelling units, churches, schools, daycare centers and other noise sensitive uses as defined by the City of Glendale zoning ordinance that are located within one-half (1/2) mile of a freeway right-of-way shall comply with sound attenuation standards adopted by the MAG Building Codes Committee on April 17, 1996. Any development within these categories shall include written certification by an acoustical engineer or a registered architect prior to certificate of occupancy of the current and projected dln noise levels for all interior rooms and that the interior noise levels for all interior rooms will not exceed forty-five (45) dB. Construction plans for these developments shall indicate the appropriate attenuation methods for construction.
