§ 1. Permitted types of elections.

Elections to be held in the city shall be either primary, general or special.

(a)

Primary elections shall be held for the purpose of making nominations for the general elections and electing officers as hereinafter provided, and for such other purposes as the council may prescribe.

(b)

General elections shall be held for the purpose of electing officers of the city and such other purposes as the council may prescribe.

(c)

All other municipal elections that may be held by authority of this charter, or of any law, shall be known as special elections.
