§ 4. Presiding officer; appointment; term; justice of peace as city judge.

The presiding officer of the city court shall be a city judge, who shall be appointed by the council and shall hold office during the pleasure of the council.

A justice of the peace in the city shall be eligible to the office of city judge without forfeiting his office as justice of the peace.
